An Organizer's dream calendar! Allow your volunteers and partners to post events, enables volunteers to self-organize, and communicate, automatically be reminded of events, find your Explicit and Implict Affinities based on events you create and events you join, and opt to be notified when events that match your Affinities are posted, and, of course, more.
FEATURES
- Moderated, and Open- This calendar is moderated, while allowing anyone to enter an event. When an event is submitted, user must register and verify their address (via the traditional click-link-in-email), if they want the event approved by the moderator.
- Moderator notifications- Moderator emailed and/or TXT msged when new event posted. Events find the Moderator, so they can be doing other things besides checking for new events.
- Password protected Admin tools- Approve, edit, delete, reapprove events, and the like.
- My Events- View the calendar with just your events.
- Invites- A single click to share event, with links to make it easy for folks to join your event.
- Tags- Keywords that describe event, some generated automatically from title, city, zip and venue fields, and also user-defined keywords. Any signed-in user can add keywords.
- Watchwords- Users can subscribe in one-click to keywords (politics, 78701, John Courage, etc) and be automatically emailed when a new event is posted that matches their interests.
- Reminders- Automatic email and/or TXT MSG reminders for events.
- Search- by city, title, zip, or 'tag'.
SERVER REQUIREMENTS
- Written in PHP 4.2.x for MySQL 4.1.14. Developed and tested extensively on Dreamhost's servers.
- Completely Portable!Want a calendar on your site? If you already have a MySQL database, you can be up in running in literally minutes.
- Installation- Download a .zip, copy directory to your system, and After installing files, open 'lib/dbdata.inc.php' and configure the domain, directory, hostname, server variables, visit yourdomain.com/yourdirectory and follow the setup prompt, which will generate your mysql tables. Thats it!
- Free Email reminders and notifications. TXTMSG-to-cell-phones capability available for very reasonable fee.
