With years of service to Round Rock’s public schools, Diana is poised to win this rapidly changing district!

As a twice-elected member of the Round Rock school board and its past
president, Diana has already represented the heart of the district–and
has earned the support of her neighbors for her hard work on behalf of
their public schools.

Diana is an award-winning government efficiency expert and 20-year
veteran of the Texas Comptroller’s office (from which she resigned in
order to run).

Diana, the Democratic nominee, has been hard at work for almost a year
raising the funds needed to win this district, which is changing rapidly
as a more diverse population moves to SE Williamson County attracted by
affordable homes, excellent public schools and proximity to major employers.

/Statewide Democratic candidates have been trending rapidly upward
within District 52, moving from 36.6% for the top vote-getter in 2000 to
the most recent high of 47.8% for the top Democratic Supreme-Court
candidate in 2006. No wonder the incumbent Republican decided to retire
after winning with a bare majority of 50.4%!

The presence of a Libertarian on the ballot will also help Diana,
similarly to what happened when Democrat Mark Strama took the adjacent
(and also fast-changing) House District 50 in 2004.

Make no mistake about it: Diana Maldonado is working hard and is poised
to win in 2008!/
