Capital City Young Democrats will be hosting a fundraiser this Saturday to benefit CCYD members who are attending the National Convention in August, including delegates, an alternate, and a new DNC member.  Funds will be for the purpose of helping to cover the costs of traveling to Denver.

Suggested donation is $15, but you are most welcome to donate more as you see fit!  Food, drink, and fun will be provided.  Parking is available across the street on Hardy Drive (the lot is behind the coffee shop).

SILENT AUCTION!  Jan Breland and John Lipscombe have also graciously offered to host a Silent Auction, which will include a variety of items, such as antique photos (old cabinet and tintype photos from before 1900), newspapers from pre-Civil War, Civil War, and post-Civil War (real ones printed on rag paper), artwork, jewelry, and more.
Please come out on Saturday to support our convention-goers and to have a great time with great friends.

RSVP (and get address) via kimberlyhokanson@gmail.com and thanks!

With years of service to Round Rock’s public schools, Diana is poised to win this rapidly changing district!

As a twice-elected member of the Round Rock school board and its past
president, Diana has already represented the heart of the district–and
has earned the support of her neighbors for her hard work on behalf of
their public schools.

Diana is an award-winning government efficiency expert and 20-year
veteran of the Texas Comptroller’s office (from which she resigned in
order to run).

Diana, the Democratic nominee, has been hard at work for almost a year
raising the funds needed to win this district, which is changing rapidly
as a more diverse population moves to SE Williamson County attracted by
affordable homes, excellent public schools and proximity to major employers.

/Statewide Democratic candidates have been trending rapidly upward
within District 52, moving from 36.6% for the top vote-getter in 2000 to
the most recent high of 47.8% for the top Democratic Supreme-Court
candidate in 2006. No wonder the incumbent Republican decided to retire
after winning with a bare majority of 50.4%!

The presence of a Libertarian on the ballot will also help Diana,
similarly to what happened when Democrat Mark Strama took the adjacent
(and also fast-changing) House District 50 in 2004.

Make no mistake about it: Diana Maldonado is working hard and is poised
to win in 2008!/

Please join Latinos for Texas at the Travis County Democratic Party’s Grand Opening of their Coordinated Campaign Office at 1107 N. IH-35, at the corner of 12th and IH-35, next door to the CVS Pharmacy.

# During the 2006 election cycle Latinos for Texas Registered over 1,000 voters in low income and underrepresented areas.
# Distributed more than 20,000 pieces of campaign literature in counties such as Bexar, Williamson, Nueces, San Patricio, and Travis.
# Visited 4,365 Travis County households. 551 on Election Day.
# Called 984 voters for Reps. Valinda Bolton and Juan Garcia, John Courage for Congress, and Chris Bell for Governor.
# Spearheaded the Travis County Senior vote-by-mail campaign.
