The Texas Democratic Convention is quickly approaching and we need your help. The convention will be held on May 6th and 7th at the Austin Convention Center. This is important opportunity for the campaign to reach thousands of Texas Democrats and engage them in our campaign. We need volunteers at the convention to assist at the Rick Noriega booth and at the Hilton to assist at the “Pachanga” fundraiser.

Rick Noriega for U.S. Senate
Passed along from Ray and Patti Fuentez
We are hosting a fundraising BBQ on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 4pm to 7pm at our home, 8606 Navidad Dr., for Rick Noriega who is running for the U. S. Senate.
Rick is a strong candidate who will stand up for the rights of everyday Texans. Two separate polls by Rasmussen Report and Research 2000 showed that Rick is just four points behind incumbent Senator John Cornyn. In both, John Cornyn polled below 50% – a sign of his weakness and vulnerability this fall. This confirms that the time for change is right and that Texas is ready. The country, the state of Texas, and our community here in Austin will greatly benefit if Rick wins the election. It is time for change in D.C. and we have a chance to make that change this year.
Please join us in welcoming Rick Noriega and help celebrate his campaign with BBQ, down home sides, and refreshments. Tickets are $500, $250, $100. You may purchase tickets online through ActBlue or you may RSVP with Laura Welch by phone at (512)554-5007 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We live in a gated community, so please RSVP to receive the gate code.
We look forward to seeing you.

LFT took a short break after endorsing in the local primary races, but we haven’t stopped working. And with just 6 months until the general election it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get ready to hit the pavement – again!
Tuesday, May 20, 7pm at El Mercado (1302 S 1st St, Austin 78704) join us for a few margaritas, a taco or two, and great political discussion with friends. This month’s agenda includes:
Carlos Barrera. Latinos For Texas PAC will present the soon-to-be next Hispanic Judge to sit on a Travis County Court of Law, Carlos Barrera, with a donation to help him take the bench in County Court #8. LFT PAC will also be taking contributions to futher our mission.
Meet the National Delegate Candidates. There’s an army of activists in SD-14 and SD-25, and we all want to do more for the Democrats. Meet those running at the State Convention for the SDEC, committees, national delegate, and even elector, so you can make an informed choice.
Travis County Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign. Working on the TCDP Coordinated Campaign is the #1 thing activists can do locally because we aren’t just helping to elect down-ballot Democrats, we’re also giving our state-wide candidates the margins they need to help put them into office. Meet Kate Murrow, Field Director for Rep. Valinda Bolton
Plus a recap of TCDP fundraiser for outgoing TCDP Chair Extraordinaire, Chris Elliott, and additional announcments by members who want to share.
See you there!
