Democracy for Texas has just announced a very important, nay a groundbreaking, development in the quest for 2006 Democratic wins here in Texas: candidate training. Straight from their website:

Candidate Training Is Here!

For the past year, the most frequently asked question we’ve heard from many of you who have attended our trainings, most recently at DemocracyFest 2005, is “When are you going to offer training for candidates?” The answer: NOW.

Are you a socially progressive, fiscally responsible candidate? Are you working for one? If so, Democracy for Texas wants to help you or your candidate run the best race possible. Come and learn from pros affiliated with Democracy for America, Latinos for America, Wellstone Action, AFSCME, and other nationwide progressive organizations, as well as experts from Texas campaigns.

Hosted by Democracy for Texas
Curriculum Developed by Latinos for America and Democracy for Texas

September 30 - October 3, 2005
Holiday Inn-Town Lake
Austin, Texas

This could reap dividends in coordinated state-wide messaging and voter contact techniques. Please urge all the candidates, Latino, Anglo, African-American, Asian-American, etc., to go. Todos unidos, es decir. If this and other efforts to come are successful, not only will more Latinos be voting Democratic in 2006, but more Anglos will be voting for Democratic minority candidates.
